The opportunities of the Russian Federation commerce are widely known. In a context of general financial development, also stimulated by the action of legislative and administrative reform, the occurrence of high national trade growth has to deal with the boundaries of the current Russian manufacturing format, emerging in big possibilities for companies in other countries ready to meet Russian demand, both customer and instrumental goods.

The regulatory framework in Russia is quite different from the European background in which we are familiar with moving with agility. Provided that the principle of reciprocal recognition in the EC market is mandatory and compulsory certification, which is only requested for certain hazardous or risky products in Russia, majority of the products destined for marketing on the domestic markets of the federation have to be authorized to verify product conformity to Russian national norms. Since the verification of foreign goods is not directly the responsibility of the customs forces, they are limited to checking the existence and authenticity of the documentation guaranteeing the characteristics of the foreign products. The primary evidence is the certificate of conformity promulgated under the obligatory GOST Certification System.

This internal certification policy has been instituted to secure public health and ensure the security and quality of imported goods that have overwhelmed the internal markets of former USSRs.
